These Watermelon Lime Mocktails are super quick and easy to make and kicked up a notch with a fun Tajín rim.
Meet the 2-ingredient, easy-breezy, ultra-refreshing watermelon mocktail that we have been loving this summer.
This recipe came about a bit on accident when we had a quarter of a leftover watermelon in the fridge that was on its last leg. I decided to give it a quick dice and pop it in the freezer to save it. Then one evening when we were making Mexican food for dinner, I decided to blend up the frozen watermelon with a bunch of fresh lime juice to make some slushies to go with our meal, and rimmed our glasses with some Tajín to give them more of a zesty mocktail twist.

This recipe literally just takes a few minutes to blend up. You’re welcome to make them as sweet and watermelon-y or tart and lime-y as you prefer. If you feel like adding an extra kick, you could also toss a slice of fresh jalapeño in there too. But however you make them, they are sure to taste so summery and fun. And our friends all agree that they legit feel like a festive drink, even without the alcohol!

Watermelon Lime Mocktail Ingredients:
The ingredients for this mocktail recipe couldn’t be simpler. You will need…
- Frozen watermelon: Instead of using ice to make these frozen blended drinks, I recommend just freezing fresh watermelon itself. Just dice the watermelon into 1-inch(ish) cubes, place it on a parchment-covered baking sheet in a single layer (otherwise the watermelon will stick to your sheet), and freeze for at least 2 hours.
- Fresh lime juice: I love adding a good amount of lime juice to these mocktails so that they have some solid tartness to balance out all of that sweet watermelon. But feel free to taste as you go, and add however much lime juice you prefer. I also like to save a few extra lime slices for garnish.
- Water: You will also need to add in a good amount of water to get the blender going.
- Tajín (optional): And finally, Tajín. ♡ We are mega fans of this Mexican chili lime seasoning in our house and love using it to rim glasses for margaritas and various other cocktails. But it also pairs fabulously with the sweet watermelon in this recipe and adds a slightly spicy, zesty kick. Alternately, you could rim your glasses with margarita salt or just skim the rim altogether.

- Rim the glasses. Add some Tajín to a shallow small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rims of your serving glasses, then dip the rims lightly in the Tajín. Set the glasses aside until ready to use.
- Blend. Add the frozen watermelon chunks, lime juice and water to a blender. Cover and blend until smooth, adding in more water as needed to get the blender going and achieve a thick slushie consistency.
- Serve. Pour the mixture into your serving glasses, top each with a slice of lime for garnish if desired, then serve and enjoy!
Possible Variations:
There are so many ways that you could customize this mocktail, so feel free to play around and get creative! For example, feel free to…
- Add extra frozen fruit: Happen to have some extra frozen fruit hanging out in your freezer? Feel free to toss it into the mix to go with the watermelon.
- Make it spicy: If you would like to add a spicy kick to these mocktails, try blending in a slice or two of fresh jalapeño.
- Make it creamy: You could also add in a half cup (or more) of coconut milk to give these mocktails more of a beachy vibe.

Notes
Tips on freezing watermelon: In order to prevent the diced watermelon from freezing in one big clump (or sticking to your bowl), I recommend dicing the fresh watermelon into 1-inch cubes. Then place the cubes on in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and freeze for at least 2 hours.
