How long does it keep?

Once your cracker toffee has set and you have broken it into pieces, transfer it to an airtight container. It will keep well for up to a week and can be enjoyed straight from the fridge.

Can you freeze it?

Yes, this Christmas crack freezes pretty well, so be sure to make a double batch! Either wrap the whole slab or individual pieces in plastic wrap and foil and place in a freezer bag.

Thaw in the fridge or quickly at room temperature.

Recipe Variations

This cracker toffee is pretty good as it is, they don’t call it crack for no reason! But, you can easily mix things up by using white or semi-sweet chocolate and different colored sprinkles to match the occasion.

Pecans work great, but you can swap these for peanuts, walnuts or pretzel pieces.

Tips!

  • Leave an overhang of foil when you line the baking sheet so that the Christmas crack is easy to remove.
  • Let it cool completely before breaking into pieces.
  • Stir the toffee while you boil it so that it doesn’t burn.
