Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground lamb
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, coriander, cumin, cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, garlic, and breadcrumbs. Mix well.
- Form the lamb mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the lamb patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- While the lamb is cooking, heat the pita breads in a toaster or on a grill until warm and slightly crispy.
- Assemble the gyro wraps by spreading a dollop of Greek yogurt onto each pita bread, then topping with a few lamb patties, chopped tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and parsley.
- Roll up the pita breads and serve immediately.
