Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour,1 tablespoon baking powder,1/2 teaspoon baking soda,1 1/2 cups brown sugar,1 1/2 cups brown sugar,2 cups buttermilk,2 large eggs, lightly beaten,1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon,1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg,1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, hezelnuts or,1/2 teaspoon salt,1 cup unsalted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350F.Grease the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch baking pan; set aside.In a large bowl combine flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside 1/2 cup.Stir baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg into remaining crumb mixture.In a medium bowl combine eggs and buttermilk.
- Add egg mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened.Spoon batter into prepared pan.Stir together reserved crumb mixture and nuts and sprinkle over batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.Cool slightly and serve warm.
