Fruity Pebble Krispy Treats are the perfect amount of marshmallow and fruity pebbles! This are my most requested sweet treat at parties!
I almost feel guilty about posting this recipe. Almost.
I mean, it’s not revolutionary. It’s not challenging. It might even seem a bit…*ahem…boring. I understand. BUT. I will tell you of ALL THE THINGS I make. I mean ALL of them. This recipe is actually the most requested thing I make in my real life.
If I am asked to bring something to a party…these are what people want. And I don’t just mean kids.
You guys know my love affair with Fruity Pebbles…and my long standing marriage to Krispie Treats has been well documented here on this website. So let’s bring the boyfriend into meet the husband. I feel like it might be an arrangement that works for everyone.
The trick here is getting the perfect ratio of Fruity Pebbles to Rice Krispies. It’s super scientific. Too many Pebbles, they’re just too sweet. Too few Pebbles…well…lame.
AND let’s discuss the marshmallow portions happening here. I used my Perfect Krispie Treat recipe as the guide…because…well. It’s perfect. If you aren’t familiar with that recipe, go ahead and hop over and print it out. You’ll need to commit that one to memory forevermore bc it’s the last krispie treat recipe you’ll ever need.
Also, I do need to mention, that I have used this flavor combo before here on my Marshmallow Fluff Krispie Treat recipe, when I tried packing AS MUCH MARSHMALLOW INTO A KRISPIE TREAT AS POSSIBLE. Again, all in the name of science. So while I totally stand behind that recipe, it includes marshmallows AND marshmallow fluff… so the texture is slightly different, but still totally amazing. Anyhow, just wanted to say those words before we moved on.
Like I said, it’s all about the Pebble to Krispie ratio. I go with 2/3 Krispies and 1/3 Pebbles. Sounds a little Pebbles light, doesn’t it? Do NOT worry. I promise you it’s the right call.
Beyond that it’s pretty basic, except I go a little heavy with the marshmallow portions. Again, another tried and true science experiment. Too many marshmallows the krispies don’t stay together and the krispies get soggy and chewy. Too few, you scratch up the roof of your mouth. You know what I mean.
And like my perfect recipe, you add some unmelted marshmallows. It’s one of the tricks!
Stir those in and press them into the pan!
I’m telling you, these are freaking ridiculous.
Wait until they cool to cut them into squares. It doesn’t take long.
And enjoy! They will be gone quick!
You can increase this recipe by 1/2 and make them in a 9×13 pan if you would like to feed a larger crowd!
