Heaven in a Crockery Dish
There’s this moment when you pull a pan of lasagna from the oven. The cheese is bubbling and the steam that’s coming from the sauce smells so amazing. Oh my gosh, y’all. It’s heaven in a crockery dish! My whole family smells it cooking and gathers in the kitchen just waiting for this Crowd-Pleasing Turkey Lasagna to come out of the oven. There’s so much comfort in a warm, delicious meal that brings my family together.
Like lasagna made with ground beef, this one is saucy, cheesy and so flavorful. But because it’s made with ground turkey, it’s a bit on the lighter side. Just a bit ?. The no-boil noodles save some prep time, and the cheese and fresh herbs make it just the yummiest, most comforting meal. I can’t wait to share it with you!
How to Make Turkey Lasagna
First, preheat oven to 350°F. Then in a large pot, sauté the olive oil, garlic and basil over medium-low heat for about 3 minutes. Next, add the ground turkey and cook over medium-high heat until cooked all the way through. Once the turkey is cooked, add the pasta sauce and let simmer for 5 minutes before turning off the heat.
In a bowl, stir together the cottage cheese, sour cream and Parmesan cheese. Next, take a 9×13-inch baking dish and cover the bottom with a thin layer of the meat sauce. Next, add a layer of lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the remaining meat sauce, 1 cup mozzarella, and half of the cottage cheese mixture. Top that with another layer of lasagna noodles, 1/2 of the remaining meat sauce, 1 cup mozzarella and the remaining cottage cheese mixture. Then finish with a final layer of lasagna noodles, the remaining meat sauce, and the remaining mozzarella.
Finally, bake for 45 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and the noodles are soft. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Sprinkle with some chopped fresh basil just before serving and enjoy!
This turkey lasagna is sure to become the meal that you make over and over again to show just how much you love your people. Whether it be dinner with the family, a house full of friends or to take to someone in need of warm meal. It’s the ultimate comfort dish!
