I’mma asparagus-fiend. sorrynotsorry. I love it so much! Sometimes people ask me what we actually eat for dinner since, you know, I have this food blog and I cook a lot. Well, the truth is, I eat all the chicken and asparagus recipes, the other 3 eat all the pasta recipes, and I take all of our leftovers to my parents.
That’s the truth until Bacon Wrapped Asparagus show up to the table… at that point, all bets are off and everyone fights for my asparagus. Same goes with my Bacon Wrapped Green Beans. All this has nothing to do with the vegetable, and everything to do with the bacon that the veg is wrapped in. Just stating the obvious.
So HOW DO YOU MAKE BACON WRAPPED ASPARAGUS?
- The method is simple and straightforward. You will need asparagus and bacon to get started.
- Trim (snap the ends off) the asparagus, wash and pat dry.
- Spray the asparagus with olive oil cooking spray, and sprinkle with a bit of salt.
- Wrap each asparagus spear with a slice of bacon, working your way down the spears in a spiral.
- Transfer the bacon wrapped asparagus to a cooling rack set over a foil lined baking sheet.
HOW TO MAKE A BALSAMIC GLAZE:
- Combine light brown sugar and balsamic vinegar in a small mixing bowl; mix to combine.
- Brush the balsamic glaze over the asparagus.
- Season with fresh ground pepper and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 400F, or until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender.
HOW TO GRILL BACON WRAPPED ASPARAGUS
- You can also grill bacon-wrapped asparagus! To grill, place the bacon wrapped asparagus on hot grill and cover. Cook 10 to 12 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and asparagus is tender.
