Today we’re making chilled apple cider punch that tastes like fall in a glass!
Okay and yes, let’s address the elephant in the room: I have an apple cider addiction. Because, how can you not?
Guys, I think I have eight apple cider cocktails for you this season. Maybe give or take one. I LOVE apple cider so much (p.s. yes homemade is coming soon), I adore that it can be hot or cold, and it just makes the best fall cocktails.
Speaking of, that’s one of the reasons I wanted to bring Thursday cocktails back for the fall. Because here’s the thing: in the summer, I drink mostly chilled rosé or white wine. Maybe some margaritas. Maybe (a gallon of) an aperol spritz.
In the fall though? I want all the sangrias, punches, those warm-you-to-the-core autumn flavors that make me so happy.
Is that how your cocktail hours are going?
Please tell me yes.
See, it’s rare that I will run out and buy a bunch of new bottles for punch or cocktails unless it’s a REALLY good, almost classic, relied on recipe that everyone loves. Like my white apple cider sangria. I want to use the ingredients over and over again!
This is one of those. With some tart pomegranate flavor, a whole cup of aperol (it works incredibly well in fall drinks!) and bubbly, dry prosecco.
THIS IS A KEEPER.
In addition to being all around obsessed with the flavor of this punch, you know, with the whole “it’s almost fall but it’s 90 degrees so let’s make a fun drink!” thing, it’s one that you can totally make ahead of time.
If you’re going to a tailgate party or want to transport this somewhere, combine everything and take it with you. It’s perfect! The bubbles may die down a bit, but it still tastes incredible.
Then, if you find yourself with leftover apple cider, pour it in some popsicle molds! Freeze ’em and serve with the punch. Wisdom, I tell you.
Apple Cider Punch
Could literally drink this every darn day.
