Tips for the Best Instant Pot Jasmine Rice

This Jasmine rice is super simple but following these tips will make it fluffy and tender every time! ?

  • Always rinse your rice before cooking it in an instant pot! This will remove surface starch, and rinsing it will keep it from getting foamy and messy.
If you don’t have or can’t find Jasmine rice, you can use another long grain white rice in its place, like Basmati rice.
  • Don’t leave the rice in the instant pot on the warm setting or it will stick to the bottom and possibly burn.
  • Use a 1:1 ratio of rice and liquid or your rice will become too mushy.
  • You can modify this recipe for 3 cups of rice or 1 cup of rice, depending on how many people you are serving. Just be sure to also adjust your liquid, too.

Serving Suggestions

Jasmine rice is popular in southeast Asia and is often called Thai fragrant rice. It can be eaten as a side dish and is often served under a main course like a stir fry. But, you can serve it with just about anything!

Is Jasmine Rice Healthy?

  • Well, this depends on your dietary needs. Jasmine rice is a simple carbohydrate and the white version is void of fiber so it might not be ideal for someone who is living the no-carb life.
  • However, it is also fat free and cholesterol free! When eaten as part of a diet that’s high in veggies, beans and legumes, fruits, and lean meats, jasmine rice is a healthy source for carbs.
