Simple and easy to make, this glaze can be added as decor or used to enhance the taste of your recipe. With just two ingredients, this glaze has a sweet, yummy taste that won’t overpower your treat. Add it to your favorite cookie recipes,  use it to enhance simple cakes, and more!

Once dry, this simple, no-cook glaze forms a thin film over a cake or cookie crust. It may also be used as a decoration.

You can vary the flavor and instead of water, add lemon, lime, tangerine or orange juice or even rum or coffee to the powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (50 grams) unsifted powdered sugar
  • 4 teaspoons water

Instructions

  1. Pour the sugar into a triple sifter and sift into a 1-quart mixing bowl. Add the water and stir with a rubber spatula until blended and smooth. The consistency should be thin enough so that a transparent film will cover the baked good. Adjust the consistency by adding water if it is too thick or sugar if it is too thin. Use immediately.
