Ingredients:
- 24 large mushrooms
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Clean the mushrooms and remove their stems.
- Chop the stems and set them aside.
- In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the melted butter.
- Cook for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the chopped mushroom stems, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the mixture is well combined.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Tips:
- For a twist, try adding some chopped bacon or sausage to the filling mixture.
- These stuffed mushrooms can be made ahead of time, simply store them in the fridge and bake them right before serving.
