I make a lot of salads during the summertime. Green salad, pasta salad, bean salad, chicken salad, potato salad, quinoa salad, and fruit salad. When it’s hot, all I want is a good salad.

I love making this Berry Quinoa Salad because it is bursting with beautiful berries! It has blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries…all of the BEST summer berries.

The berries and quinoa get tossed in a simple citrus honey dressing that is incredible. I also add some fresh herbs and almonds for a little crunch.

This is a fun fruit salad to serve for the 4th of July, Labor Day, or any summer day. Take it to a BBQ, picnic, or potluck. I also like to make it for breakfast or eat it as a sweet snack. The quinoa is a great source of protein, making it a great breakfast or healthy snack.

  • Berries– strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries! Make sure you pick the best berries you can find since they are the star of the salad.
  • Almonds– chop up some almonds or you can use candied pecans if you want a little extra sweetness!

The dressing is easy to whisk up! You will need:

How to Make Berry Quinoa Salad

  • First, make the dressing. In a small bowl or jar, whisk together the orange zest, orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, honey, mint, and basil. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked quinoa, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, almonds, mint, and basil. Gently stir.
  • Drizzle citrus honey dressing over the salad and gently stir again. Serve and enjoy!

How to Store

This berry salad is best the day it is made. The berries will get really juicy after being tossed in the dressing. If you have leftovers, you can store the salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just know, that the berries might get a little mushy.

If you want to prep in advance, you can make the quinoa and dressing ahead of time. Store the cooked quinoa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Store the dressing in a jar or container for up to 3 days. Whisk before using.
